WALTON WELL PRESS is named after a once working well in Oxford, England that provided water to the “artisan” population of the neighborhood of Jericho and any who might pass by. Images of the prophet Elijah, who was fed by ravens in the desert, adorn the street where the Well resides to this day. This press publishes work by writers and “artisans,” for solace and sustenance. They are our ravens; presses, no matter how small, are our wells—between them they give us life.
